On Monday 11 May 2010, President Mary McAleese announced Siobhán Parkinson as the first ever Irish Laureate for Children's Literature, Laureate na nOg.

Little Island, Siobhán's publishing imprint for children and young people launched sixnovels in spring 2010. More to come in summer and autumn.

Siobhán's most recent book is Dialann Sár-Rúnda Amy Ní Chonchúir, from Cois Life.
  

This is the first time Siobhán has published a book in Irish. It was published in 2008, and and has won an Oireachtas Award. Watch out for news of the English version of this book.
